"Integrative Therapies for Epilepsy: The Evidence Base"
Many of the nearly 1.5 million Americans with epilepsy who live with ongoing seizures or disabling medication side effects turn to complementary and alternative therapies. This presentation will review these therapies and summarize the evidence base for their use.
"Epilepsy in Modern Life: Classic & Alternative Approaches"
This symposium will introduce healthcare professionals and patients to a wide spectrum of therapies for people with epilepsy. The first theme of the symposium will focus on the influence of stress on epilepsy, as well as complementary and alternative treatments. The second theme will address individualized approaches to treat epilepsy, including cognitive training will be integrated into a comprehensive treatment plan. The overarching goal of the symposium is to provide insight and strategy to enhance the quality of life and cognitive function of people with epilepsy.
